5 Breathtaking Hill Country Swimming Holes

Summer is here and we are ready for water, fun and sunshine! While we’ve had some rain over the past few months, the Guadalupe is still low is some spots which makes floating and kayaking more challenging. Most Texas hill country natives have heard of Blue Hole Regional Park, Jacob’s Well, Hamilton Pool, and Krause Springs. These are spring-fed swimming holes in beautiful spots in the Texas hill country. Last summer, swimming was suspended at Blue Hole due to bacteria in the water. Jacob’s well also closed down since the water stopped flowing due to the drought, and will remain closed for the foreseeable future. We are all hoping for more rain as the heat comes in this summer.

Bird Haus Farms Swimming Hole is constant level!

The swimming hole at Bird Haus Farms has a manmade waterfall and is built into a wet weather creek. The swimming hole has a liner underneath to hold water. There is a beach area perfect for basking in the sun and watching the kids as they wade into the beach entry swimming area.

Cleaner than the Guadalupe

The water is cleaner than the Guadalupe river. It remains filtered year round and chlorinated in the summer for crystal clear water. The oak tree provides shade to cool off on a hot summer day, along with a bench swing to enjoy scenic views of the hill country and cows grazing in the pasture. There are rocks lined along the pond and two picnic tables to enjoy lunch with friends and family.

We offer a fun weekend trip away from the city

Bird Haus Farms offers four short term rentals on the property and is located in Spring Branch, Texas, just a short drive from Austin. The property is under 30 minutes from Boerne, New Branunfels, San Antonio, Guadalupe State Park and Blanco State Park. It’s one of the best swimming holes in the area! Come stay at Bird Haus Farms and enjoy this little hidden hill country gem.
